Italian Semiconductor Launches Low Noise Low Voltage Regulators for Energy Conservation

LD56020 is a semiconductor 1.1V to 5.5V power supply with low output noise, suitable for applications with high requirements for reliability and battery life.

The LD56020 is highly competitive in price, especially suitable for mobile terminals, visual sensors, and wireless connection modules. The voltage drop is very low, and the highest value at full load is only 190mV at light load. The static current is relatively high at 25 µ A. The external allowed pin allows the control logic to place the voltage regulator in standby mode, reducing the static current to below 0.1 µ A.

The LD56020 suppresses the power supply current (SVRIN) to 90db (1kHz, 20ma), with an output noise of only 8.8 µ VRMS (10Hz to 100kHz), providing a clear power track for low-voltage digital circuits. Only a small ceramic capacitor can stabilize the circuit voltage at the output of the voltage regulator. The number of headquarters parts required by the design can minimize the cost of the bill of materials. The 0.65 mm x 0.65 mm small chip level package (CSP) of the integrated voltage regulator ensures a compact circuit area and has little impact on the size of the printed circuit board.

The voltage regulator has protective functions, including short-circuit capacity folding, undervoltage locking to prevent high power consumption during system failures, as well as overheating protection and internal discharge channels.

LD56020 has now been put into production and has chosen CSP-4 chip level packaging.
