How to wire the time relay

Time controller is a common electrical control component that can control the switch state of a circuit for a certain period of time. Time controllers are typically used for circuits that must delay starting or stopping, such as motor starting, lighting control, etc. The correct wire connection method can ensure the normal operation of the time controller. The following will provide a detailed introduction to the wire connection method of the time controller.

1. Power wiring

The time controller must be powered by an external power source, usually an AC or DC power source. When wiring, it should be matched based on the rated voltage of the time controller and the power supply voltage. The power wiring usually has two terminals, L and N. The L terminal is the power phase line, and the N terminal is the power zero line. Connect the L terminal to the power phase line and the N terminal to the power zero line.

2. Control command wiring

The control instructions of a time controller are usually switch signals, such as buttons, switches, sensors, etc. When wiring, the appropriate wiring method should be selected based on the control method of the time controller. There are two common control methods:

(1) Voltage control method

The voltage control method utilizes external voltage signals to control the switching state of the time controller. When wiring, connect the positive stage of the voltage signal to the control terminal of the time controller, and the negative stage to the zero line of the power supply.

(2) Dry contact control method

The dry joint control method utilizes external dry joint signals to control the switch state of the time controller. When wiring, connect one end of the dry connector to the control terminal of the time controller and the other end to the power zero line.

3. Load wiring

The load of the time controller is generally electrical equipment such as motors and lighting. When wiring, the rated capacity of the controller should be matched based on the power and voltage of the load. There are generally two types of terminals for load wiring, namely NO and NC. The NO terminal is a constant starter, and when the time controller is turned off, the NO terminal and COM terminal are disconnected; The NC terminal is a normally closed terminal, and when the time controller is turned off, the NC terminal and COM terminal are disconnected. Connect the load phase line to the NO or NC terminal, connect the load zero line to the power zero line, and connect the COM terminal to the power phase line.
