The HVLED101 flyback controller of STF Semiconductor is applicable to LED lamps up to 180W. It integrates various functions, patented control technology and primary detection and voltage stabilization support, helping to improve lighting performance and simplify lamp circuit design.




HVLED101 is a new member of the HVLED series high power factor controller of Italian French Semiconductor. The integrated 800V starting circuit can reduce the LED lighting time to less than 250ms. When the mains voltage fluctuates, the high voltage input detection circuit and maximum power control (MPC) engine ensure stable power output, allowing designers to choose smaller and lower cost external passive components to deal with adverse mains conditions. The primary detection and voltage stabilization without isolation feedback further reduces the material cost and improves the reliability of the drive circuit.






The input current shaping algorithm of Italian semiconductor is a patented innovative technology, which can reduce the total harmonic distortion (THD) and maximize the correction of power factor. In addition, HVLED101 is the first high-power-factor flyback converter controller that uses the valley locking technology newly developed by Italian Semiconductor, which can minimize audible noise, improve voltage stability and reduce total harmonic distortion. In the stable state of quasi-resonant operation, the valley locking method locks the number of skipped valleys until the output power or input voltage changes significantly. Even under medium and low load conditions, current shaping combined with trough locking can still improve power factor and THD distortion. Using the flyback converter controlled by HVLED101, the THD at full load is 5%, and the 1/3 load is 10%, which conforms to the main ecological design specifications in the world.




In addition, in the pure quasi-resonant operation mode, the designer can use the external resistance to set the delay time after zero-crossing detection. HVLED101 can minimize energy loss and electromagnetic radiation (EMI) by ensuring that the grid is conductive at the lowest point of the wave trough. In general, HVLED101 enables the maximum energy efficiency of the converter to reach more than 90%, and the no-load power is less than 100mW.




All necessary protection functions are built in the controller, including overcurrent protection, input overvoltage protection and power failure protection. Intelligent Automatic Overload Timer (ART) allows all protection mechanisms to operate without latch, ensuring that the lighting has excellent reliability and excellent user experience.




To help developers speed up the development cycle and shorten the time to market of terminal products, Italian French Semiconductor provides two HVLED101 function demonstration boards. EVLHV101PSR50W is a 90-265VAC, 60V/0.8A primary detection voltage stabilization isolation flyback converter. The design of EVLHV101SSR50W and EVLHV101PSR50W is the same, but the difference is secondary detection voltage stabilization.




HVLED101 is packaged with narrow SO-14N and has been mass produced.
