Which components are linear resistors? What are the characteristics of linear resistors?

Linear resistance, in simple terms, does not change with changes in input voltage and current values. For example, under the premise of constant temperature, the correlation between the voltage and current on both sides of a metal resistance component can be considered linear, that is, the resistance value remains unchanged, otherwise it is called nonlinear resistance, which can change the resistance. A linear resistor is an electronic component that is linearly related to current and voltage. Resistors are the most common linear components, and common linear components also include capacitors and inductors. Both metal conductors and electrolytes have this characteristic.

If the characteristic curve of the resistance element is the starting point of a straight line at any time, that is, its characteristic equation is homogeneous linear and follows Ohm's law, for example, the resistance is linear, and the resistance value usually does not change, for example, the resistance value of the solar lamp and diode changes with temperature, current direction, etc., and it is nonlinear resistance.

In fact, not only pure metals, semiconductors, even ordinary conductors, but also their resistance will change with the voltage U, so they are all Nonlinear element. However, under normal circumstances, when the resistance of a conductor does not vary significantly among the factors we consider, we are accustomed to treating it as a linear component, similar to the constant value of resistance, which is particularly easy to use and reasonable in many cases.

The current of a linear resistor is positively correlated with the voltage. The volt ampere characteristic curve is a straight line at the coordinate origin, and the ratio of voltage to current is called resistance. Although the capacitance and inductance do not comply with Ohm's law, their input and output have a linear relationship: the capacitance complies with q=Cu, and the inductance ψ= Li, these two concepts are the most basic concepts of capacitance and inductance, which are also linear components.

When a signal passes through a component and the waveform of the signal remains unchanged, we call it a linear component; For example, resistance and capacitance. When a signal passes through a component, its waveform is affected, and we call it a nonlinear component; For example, a diode, through which only half of the AC signal passes. The same applies to linear and nonlinear circuits; When a signal passes through a circuit, the signal wave does not change, and we call it a linear circuit; When a signal passes through a circuit, the signal wave is affected, which is called a nonlinear circuit. That is to say, the function curve of the input value and the output value is a straight line, which is what we call a linear shape; Otherwise, it is nonlinear. (Note: the "function of input value and derived value" mentioned here is actually "the ratio k of input value and derived value". For general equipment, k=1, the power amplifier element is not equal to 1, but a constant. In other words, k is a linear circuit with fixed constant, and k is a Nonlinear element with irregular.)
