Ruisa Electronics Launches a New Power Management Chip Meeting ASIL B Standards

Resa Electronics Semiconductor Solution Provider (TSE: 6723) today announced the launch of an innovative automotive grade battery management IC (PMIC) - RAA271082 - for the next generation of car mounted cameras. The RAA271082 is a multifunctional multi output power supply IC that conforms to the ISO-262 standard, including a primary high-voltage synchronous step-down regulator, two secondary low-voltage synchronous step-down regulators, and a low-voltage LDO regulator. It also provides four overvoltage and undervoltage (OV/UV) monitoring, I2C communication, configurable general-purpose I/O pins, and dedicated reset export/fault indication. In order to meet the strict ASIL B specification, the RAA271082 has continuous CRC error verification for OV/UV monitoring, built-in power-on self checking, separate OV/UV monitoring, internal registers, and I2C communication.

The RAA271082 is highly integrated, creating a universal power solution for car mounted cameras. This is the ideal technology combination for Reza Vehicle Ultra Clear Link (AHL). AHL enables automotive manufacturers to provide ultra clear video using low-cost cables and connectors. This new PMIC IC IC simplifies the power design of in-car camera modules that require compliance with functional safety standards, and can be used for proximity/satellite, rearview, driver monitoring, and electronic rearview mirror cameras. It supports most image sensors and image signal converters (ISPs) combined with encoder technology for power requirements that support direct battery power and coaxial power supply.

In addition to imaging systems, the high integration and comprehensive security features of the RAA271082 make it an exceptional power processing solution for 16 bit and 32 bit MCUs in various automotive applications.

Niall Lyne, Vice President, Analog Power and Video Division, Renesa Electronics Automotive, said, "Cameras have become an indispensable feature for all new models. Renesa's new PMICC IC is suitable for the vast majority of on-board camera modules and can provide all the features and functions required for customer power supply. It is also an excellent combination of AHL solutions and has recently been selected as one of the most innovative applications of computer vision technology."
