A few days ago, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE stock code: VSH) announced the launch of a new series of low impedance, automotive grade miniature aluminum electrolytic capacitors - 172 RLX, with higher performance than the previous generation of solutions, and reduced the overall size. Vishay BCcomponents 172 RLX series capacitor has a ripple current of up to 4.9 A, can work at a high temperature of+105 ° C, and has a service life of up to 10000 hours. It provides 14 dimensions from 10 mm x 12 mm to 18 mm x 40 mm.







Compared with the previous generation of solutions, the recently released capacitor conforms to the AEC-Q200 standard, with smaller overall dimensions, lower impedance and higher capacity of the given package and voltage device, and 54% higher ripple current at the same rated capacitance-voltage (CV). For example, the 1000 mF/10 V rated CV device of the previous generation solution uses a 10 mm x 16 mm package with a ripple current of 1100 mA, and the 172 RLX series capacitor uses a 10 mm x 12 mm package with a ripple current of 1700 mA. Therefore, designers can use fewer components, improve design flexibility and save circuit board space.




172 RLX series capacitor adopts radial lead, cylindrical aluminum shell with blue sleeve insulation, with pressure reducing device, rated voltage up to 50 V, and capacity of 150 μ F to 15 000 μ F. The impedance is as low as 0.011 W at+20 ° C. The capacitor has the function of preventing charging and discharging.
